A SigEp undergraduate leader at Cal Poly Pamona, Rob Jackson moved to Pullman for grad school. He later found himself deeply emerged in the Washington Alpha Chapter.
A volunteer with WA Alpha since 2017, Rob has been advising the executive board since before many of them were even out of high school.
“He makes us better, simply put. I don’t know what kind of leader I would be, and what kind of direction the fraternity would be in without him,” Vice President of Communication Andrew Thomas said. “He’s all behind the scenes, doing thankless work out of love for the fraternity.”
He’s asked tough questions, build connections and relationships, challenged leadership to be different, and push all membership to be better. Rob has been a vehicle of translation for the fraternity’s core values.
The volunteer role has no monetary incentive; Rob is an effective liaison between the Pullman undergraduates and the westside alumni.
“Rob has always pushed us to do what is right, not what is popular,” Chaplain Andrew Poulton said. “It’s my second year working with him, and he’s undeniably made me a better man.”
Because of Rob’s diligent efforts with undergraduate leadership, the chapter has slowly moved toward better practices and value-driven decisions.
